Before the existence of the Paschal Student Media Organization, the media presence at Paschal was disorganized and rare. While The Panther Yearbook and Pantherette Newspaper successfully operated at this time, it was unusual for a student to photograph an event, leaving athletes, students, organizations, and the school itself without marketing material. With a vision to develop the media scene at Paschal, a rising junior at the time, Jayden Iorizzo, began to photograph events for the many athletic organizations at Paschal. Inspired by the work of Iorizzo and The Panther Yearbook, then junior Henrey Escoto & then freshman Chase Hooper began to work alongside Jayden.
BeginNing Steps
In hopes of growing the media scene at Paschal and organizing all media activity, Jayden Iorizzo founded PSMO. The Paschal Student Media Organization was established in April of 2025 in preparation for the following school year. The beginning steps of PSMO were led by a now-graduated Jayden Iorizzo (@jays.photography_08). Iorizzo worked alongside current Yearbook and Newspaper Adviser, Terry Buckner, to create a Media Organization with functioning photo, video, podcast, live media, reporting, and yearbook departments.
The First Year
The first year of PSMO's operation was the 2025-2026 school year. During this year, the Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, and Live Media departments operated. Each department had around two to three members; therefore, the team consisted of about ten members. Now in the Second Year of operation, Paschal Student Media is expected to have exponential growth. Expansion regarding paschal publications
In the 2026 - 2027 school year, the Paschal Media Organization is expanding to include both The Panther Yearbook and The Pantherette Newspaper. This opportunity has added many positions and responsibilities to the organization. Through this transition, Paschal Media is building a more collaborative, efficient, and sustainable program that equips students with hands-on experience in journalism, photography, design, and publication management. This expansion reflects our commitment to developing the next generation of media leaders while strengthening the quality and reach of student storytelling across the Paschal community.
Growth in existing departments
Due to increased interest, all departments of Paschal Student Media are growing. The dominant photography department will now employ up to twelve members rather than six. The videography department will now employ up to four members rather than three. The graphic design department will now employ four members rather than two. The Live Media Department will now employ four members rather than two. This increase led the current Student Director to make the decision to open nine more leadership positions, which you can now view on our About page. These changes will be noticeable to all of Panther Nation and allow us to provide you and all organizations with much more content and marketing material.
the introduction of new departments
The Paschal Student Media Organization is proud to introduce five new departments that will expand opportunities for student involvement and strengthen our multimedia coverage. These additions include the Podcast Department, the News & Anchor Department, and the Social Media Department (other departments explained below), each designed to support a growing, collaborative organization. Together, these departments will allow students to develop specialized skills, produce more diverse content, and better serve the Paschal community through modern, multimedia storytelling.
Lastly, PSMO is welcoming a new division, Communication. The Communication Division will be led by Charlotte Swiger (Junior) and will be responsible for running our calendar, running our equipment software, and reporting significant details of every event (like a score or quote). This will call for the organization to hire over 40 members just in this department. By creating a dedicated communications team, PSMO will be able to provide more comprehensive coverage of school events while ensuring every publication and media platform has timely, accurate information. This division will serve as the foundation for efficient operations and strengthen collaboration across all departments. (Leadership positions referenced above are the Fine Arts Representative Lead and the Sports Representative, who will also lead in this division.)
